7 decks covering the Google Cloud ecosystem, data and AI services, security and billing. A complete programme to pass the Cloud Digital Leader certification — Google Cloud's strategic business certification.
The Google Cloud Digital Leader certification assesses your understanding of GCP use cases and digital transformation, without going into technical implementation. The 7 decks cover all these domains.
Why organizations move to the cloud, deployment models and the business benefits of Google Cloud.
Google Cloud data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Looker), data management and data-driven decision-making.
Vertex AI, pre-trained ML models, AI/ML use cases and positioning artificial intelligence in cloud strategy.
Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, App Engine — modernizing workloads and migrating to the cloud.
Shared responsibility model, IAM, identity management, encryption and regulatory compliance on GCP.
Cloud Monitoring, logging, SRE, cost optimization and large-scale operations management.
The GCP CDL memia programme is designed for logical progression: fundamentals first, specialized services next, exam practice questions last to validate your knowledge.
Essential cloud computing basics: IaaS, PaaS, serverless, scalability, high availability and digital transformation. This deck is shared with the AZ-900 programme — ideal if you are preparing both certifications.
Key Google Cloud services and their use cases: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions and AI/ML products. The largest deck in the programme (65 cards).
DevOps, CI/CD, SRE, migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor), scalable and resilient architectures. This deck bridges technical choices and business needs.
Choosing the right GCP data service for the use case: BigQuery for data warehousing, Dataflow for stream processing, Looker for BI, Cloud Bigtable for NoSQL. Data is a growing portion of the CDL exam.
Access management (IAM, roles, service accounts), principle of least privilege, encryption at rest and in transit, VPC Service Controls and shared responsibility on GCP.
How GCP billing works, committed use discounts, sustained use discounts, budget alerts and cost optimization recommendations. A recurring theme in the CDL exam.
55 questions in the official Cloud Digital Leader format. Practice identifying the right Google Cloud service for a business need described in plain language. Use this deck at the end of your preparation.
The GCP Cloud Digital Leader can be prepared in 3 to 5 weeks with regular practice. The key: know GCP services and their use cases well, not their technical implementation.
Decks 1 and 2: Cloud Fundamentals then GCP Basics. These 95 cards cover cloud vocabulary and the GCP ecosystem. If you already have a cloud background (Azure, AWS), focus on the GCP Basics deck.
Decks 3, 4 and 5: Concepts & Architecture, Data & Analytics, Security & IAM. These three decks cover the core of the exam. FSRS schedules reviews of previous decks in parallel.
Deck 6 (Pricing) then Deck 7 (Exam Practice Questions). The practice questions deck is designed to be used after the first 6 decks — it surfaces remaining gaps and trains you on the official format.
The Cloud Digital Leader is a non-technical, business-oriented certification. It verifies understanding of GCP use cases and digital transformation, without going into implementation. Google Cloud technical certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, etc.) require significant hands-on GCP experience.
The exam is available in English, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese and Korean. It is not available in French. The memia decks are in French for preparation, but you will take the exam in English. It is recommended to familiarize yourself with GCP terminology in English.
The exam has 50 to 60 multiple-choice questions to complete in 90 minutes. The passing score is not officially published by Google. The exam can be taken at an approved centre or online with remote proctoring. The fee is approximately $200 USD.
Recommended order: Fundamentals → GCP Basics → Concepts & Architecture → Data & Analytics → Security & IAM → Pricing → Exam Practice Questions. The last deck is designed for the final revision phase, once concepts are well understood.
No. The Exam Practice Questions deck (55 cards) is a validation tool for the end of your preparation, not a shortcut. Without the GCP service understanding built through the first 6 decks, the exam questions are hard to process correctly. Use it to identify remaining gaps.
Allow 3 to 5 weeks with 15 to 20 minutes per day. Candidates with prior cloud experience (Azure, AWS) can reduce this to 2 to 3 weeks by focusing on GCP-specific content. The programme covers 310 cards, automatically managed by the FSRS algorithm.
65 GCP Bases cards + 30 shared Cloud Fundamentals with AZ-900. Immediate access to all 7 decks, no credit card required.
